Senior CNC Lathe Machinist – 2nd ShiftPay: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience Shift Differential: Additional $2.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:45 PM–11:15 PM Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct HirePosition OverviewWe are hiring an experienced Senior CNC Lathe Machinist for a direct-hire, second-shift opportunity.The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, reading complex blueprints, making machine adjustments, and producing precision machined components to close tolerances.Experience with Mazak CNC controls and Y-axis machining is a strong plus.This position is best suited for an experienced machinist who can perform CNC setups and machining operations with limited guidance in a precision manufacturing environment.What You'll DoSet up and operate CNC lathes and other production machining equipmentPerform machine setups and run multiple production machines as requiredInstall and adjust cutting tools based on the material and machining operationAdjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to produce quality parts according to specificationsPerform machining operations including cutting, shaping, drilling, reaming, forming, and reworking partsRead and follow blueprints, engineering specifications, route sheets, sketches, and work instructionsAlign and secure workpieces using standard fixtures and established methodsIdentify machining problems and make necessary machine adjustmentsDeburr precision machined components in accordance with engineering drawings and specificationsInspect finished and in-process parts for dimensional and quality requirementsUse precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and comparatorsVisually inspect machined surfaces for burrs, damage, and other defectsPerform Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities as requiredMaintain machining equipment for cleanliness, accuracy, and reliabilitySupport lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiativesFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work areaRequired Qualifications3+ years of related machining experienceHands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machinesStrong CNC lathe setup and operating experienceAbility to perform machine setups with limited guidanceAbility to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and technical work instructionsExperience machining parts to close dimensional tolerancesExperience using precision measuring and inspection toolsWorking knowledge of machine-shop mathematics, which may include trigonometryAbility to identify and respond to machining or equipment issuesStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work effectively with limited supervision in a manufacturing environmentPreferred ExperienceMazak CNC machine controlsY-axis machiningAerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experienceExperience with CNC turning or multi-axis lathe equipmentFamiliarity with GD&TExperience machining complex, tight-tolerance componentsCNC program editing or G-code knowledgeExperience with precision inspection methods and equipmentIdeal BackgroundThis opportunity may be a strong fit for candidates with experience as a Senior CNC Machinist, CNC Lathe Machinist, CNC Setup Machinist, CNC Turning Machinist, Precision Machinist, Mazak Machinist, or CNC Lathe Setup Operator.If you have strong CNC lathe setup experience and are looking for a direct-hire second-shift machining opportunity with competitive pay, apply today.
