Required Qualifications
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with MB or SP endorsements
Must meet the Highly Qualified standard under the ESSA
Ability to develop and implement individualized physical education programs tailored to the needs and abilities of students with disabilities, promoting physical fitness and motor skill development.
Ability to facilitate student learning, growth and achievement
Ability to incorporate research-based best practices for instructional design and delivery
Adapt and modify equipment, activities, and lesson plans to ensure all students can participate safely and successfully in physical education.
Possess a superior level of content knowledge for the subject matter
Knowledge and/or experience with integrating technology into the learning process
Ability to maximize technology for effective communication with students, staff and parents
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to support students' physical development and inclusion in group activities
Demonstrate strong technical skills, software skills: Google Docs/Classroom, Excel, Skyward
Assess students' progress and abilities, maintaining documentation and adjusting instructional strategies as needed to meet their goals
Ability to build professional and collegial relations with staff and parents
Ability and desire to adapt, learn and grow as an educator
Other duties as assigned
