Job description
Make an immediate difference in a supportive educational environment as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working 1:1 with an elementary student. This contract role provides a rewarding opportunity to deliver attentive care while also actively participating in the dynamic life of a school community. Desired Qualifications:
Valid LPN license in Massachusetts
Previous experience with pediatric patients, ideally within a school or similar setting
Strong communication skills to collaborate with school personnel, families, and physicians
Ability to build trusting relationships with children and educators
Commitment to student privacy, safety, and professional ethics
CPR certification and familiarity with standard school health protocols
Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive, individualized medical care to an assigned elementary school student throughout the school day
Monitor vital signs, administer medication, and respond to healthcare needs or emergencies promptly
Document care activities, maintain health records, and communicate updates with the appropriate parties
Collaborate with educators, related services personnel, and guardians to ensure continuity of care
Assist with mobility or personal care tasks as outlined in the student's care plan
Educate school staff as needed about relevant health concerns and preventive strategies
