Job description
Stormwater Restoration TechnicianOperating and maintaining various machinery, to include skid steer and excavator, to provide various restoration and repair services for stormwater assets such as retention and detention ponds, swales, and ditches. Repair of stormwater assets within parking lots, such as various catch basins, will also be required.Required qualifications include:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to travel 50 – 75% by vehicle, with overnight travel throughout territoryWillingness to work in a team environmentMinimum of two (2) years of work-related experience and one (1) year experience in operating equipmentA valid driver's license, good driving record, and the ability to drive company vehiclesAbility to obtain and maintain a DOT medical cardKnowledge of various types of stormwater best management practices (BMP)Knowledge of repair practices and operating proceduresAbility to read and interpret drawings and plans of stormwater systems (grading, utility, stormwater, etc.)Clear vision, with or without corrective lenses, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focusProficient in using various forms of technology to complete tasks effectively and efficientlyPhysical requirements include:Ability to sit, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-11 hours a dayAbility to routinely lift, push, pull, or move equipment of 50 pounds or moreAbility to withstand exposure to various weather conditions while completing work assignments (rain, heat, humidity, sun, etc.)Ability to work around water and walk, stand, and move through diverse types of terrain such as uneven ground and sloped embankmentsAbility to work within confined spacesWillingness to be in close proximity to wildlife that live in stormwater environments such as snakes, stinging insects, spiders, and other speciesAbility to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessaryDuties and responsibilities include:Demonstrate our five core values (Safety, Others, Integrity, Initiative, and Passion)Use technology to complete a tailgate brief and app reports throughout the day as necessaryCommunicate with customers about the scope of work, timelines, and updatesEmploy confined space entry (CSE) equipment to maintain a safe working environment in confided spacesVisually inspect all aspects of stormwater conveyance systems and document any problems found that effect functionality of the systemsSafely operate power equipment such as slope mowers, tractors, UTVs, excavators, skid steers, marsh masters, and zero turn mowersSafely operate handheld power equipment such as string trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and pole sawsIdentify and report any hazardous conditions or behaviors and defective equipmentAdjust, repair and service machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctionsDrive trucks or other vehicles to or at work sites, with or without trailers to haul supplies and toolsManipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinerySafely use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axesPerform preventative, routine maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipmentAdjust, repair and service machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctionsClean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiencyComply with all applicable traffic laws and regulations while operating a vehicleAdhere to safety procedures including conforming to all OSHA standards and properly using personal protective equipment (PPE)Adhere to company policies and proceduresConfer with supervisors to make operational decisionsParticipate in company meetings, trainings and state licensure programsPrioritize building strong relationships by effectively communicating with our customers, their needs, and expectations, to delivering exceptional customer service and a positive experiencePerform other duties as assignedTravel required: Yes. 75% overnight travelEqual Opportunity Employer.
