This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-ExemptDepartment: OperationsSupervisor: Production SupervisorShift: 1stWhat we are looking for:Refrigeration is responsible for fabricating and assembling components of refrigeration systems for environmental test equipment according to blueprints or schematic drawings and knowledge of refrigeration systems.What you'll be responsible for in this role:Read and comprehend blueprints or schematic drawings to determine location, size, capacity and type of components, such as compressor, condenser, expansion valves and tubing or piping needed to build equipmentMount compressor, condenser, or other components in specified locations on frame, using hand tools and welding equipmentCut, bend, and braze specified tubing to inlets and outlets of components to form liquid and suction lines of refrigeration systemsAdjust valves according to specificationsRemove air from system and charges system with specified amount and type of refrigerantMay assemble and mount electrical wiring circuits, controls, and recording devicesMust be able to adapt to rapidly changing situationsPerforms any assembly-type function, using hand or power toolsUtilize appropriate information given on material gauging and dimensioningRead rulers, tape measurers, metal squares, and other measuring instrumentsFasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fastenersIdentify maintenance needed on equipment and toolingWork at different workstations as production needs requireMaintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly mannerUse proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual's product line or work cellPerform other duties as assignedTo be a great fit for the role:Team oriented – values the synergy of a team and operates as a team playerEffectively collaborates, engages others in discussion and is hands-on in problem solvingA fast learner able to quickly come up to speed on business processes to manage and serve the needs of the organizationA passion for getting things rightCan-do attitude, committed to finding solutionsDemonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints and schematic drawingsDemonstrated proficiency with handheld tools and other measuring devicesDemonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communication and/or instructionPhysical Demands:Occasionally – Sitting, Climbing/Balancing, Stooping/Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Crawling and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs alone, up to 100lbs assistedFrequently – Standing, Walking, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Gripping, Pinching, Neck Rotation/Extension and Lift/Carry up to 50lbsConstantly – Foot Use, Visual Acuity (Near/Far) and Lift/Carry up to 10lbsThis position is eligible to earn commissions based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable commissions plan.The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
