Job Description Job Description Monday to Friday 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Duties & Responsibilities: Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications using a straightedge, combination square, caliper and/or ruler
Welds components and assemblies using electric, gas, arc and other welding equipment
Observes tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances using a micrometer, caliper and precision measure instruments
Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc
Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations
Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
Determines required equipment and welding method, applies knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques
Other duties as assigned
Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Must be able to interpret or follow drawings
Knowledge of welding techniques
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Must maintain a labor efficiency of at least 90% or higher at all times
Must take and pass written math test
Must take and pass forklift certification
Ability to lift approximately 75 lbs.
Required education and experience: High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience
