Crafts 1 Groundskeeper @ Custodial DepartmentTo help maintain district facilities and sites in a condition of operating excellence so that full use is available at all times.Education/Certification:High school graduate or GED equivalency preferredValid Class B or C Texas driver's license (as needed for specific area) with a safe driving record to pass a DMV checkSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to follow written and oral instructionsPossess skills required to meet the performance responsibilities in the respective trade areaAble to use all tools and equipmentKnowledge of safety requirements for the respective trade areaFlexible and able to adjust daily routineAbility to work in exposure to all weather conditionsExperience:NoneMaintenance and OperationsAssume responsibility to make minor repairs of any nature in facilities and sites owned by the district.Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures.Receive and complete work orders in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.Recognizes when a specialized trade is needed to solve problems.Examine facilities owned by the district on a regular basis for purposes of preventative maintenance.Comply with working guidelines of the department.Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.Respond to emergency calls as needed.SafetyRemove and/or advise foreman of any hazardous situations noticed while working on school grounds and sites.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
