CustodianKIPP NC is a network of eight high-performing, college-preparatory public charter schools providing an academically rigorous and joyous school experience to more than 3,500 students in grades K-12 in Charlotte, Durham, Gaston, and Halifax. KIPP NC is committed to expanding our efforts to embed anti-racism in all of our activities and engagements within our classrooms and schools, across our organization, and throughout the State of North Carolina.Job Responsibilities:Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals, and toilets; cleans and sanitizes showers as assigned; replenishes supplies in restroomsSweeps, vacuums, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures and equipment; cleans desks and counter topsFollows usage instructions/dilution ratios of cleaning chemicals and other custodial productsWashes windows, mirrors and wallsEmpties, cleans and sanitizes waste receptacles; picks up papers and other debrisMoves and arranges furniture and equipment and sets up rooms for conferences and meetingsUnloads supplies and equipment from trucksReplaces lights and adjusts shades and blindsCleans air vents as requiredIdentifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned building and facilities; assists maintenance staff with repairsMaintains and operates a variety of custodial equipment including vacuum polishers and wax strippersQualifications:High school diploma, GED, or equivalentCustodial Experience: 1 year (Preferred)General knowledge of methods, practices, chemicals, and equipment used in cleaning.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.This role is an on-call/seasonal position based on the needs of the school, there will be no set or guaranteed hours for this role.
