Job description
Lifeguard PositionAs the Lifeguard, you will actively maintain water safety by surveying swimming zones, enforcing safety rules, and responding quickly to emergencies to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of all campers and staff. You will work closely with waterfront and camp leadership to uphold high safety standards, monitor swimmer ability levels, and maintain a vigilant presence at all times during waterfront activities.Room and board are provided for the duration of employmentResponsibilities:Lifeguard the swim or boating area up to four times daily for camper groups ages 8–17Conduct swim checks for all campersOrganize and inventory waterfront suppliesSupervise campers during meals and rest hourProvide excellent customer service to families and visitorsAssist with property upkeep, including cleaning bathrooms, tidying shared spaces, and reporting supply issuesHelp in the kitchen as needed (dishes, cleaning, meal prep/service)Foster a positive, supportive work environmentFollow all camp policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedExperience Requirements:Must be at least 17 years oldMust be comfortable living in a rustic camp environment with limited cell phone service and internet accessExperience working with children, preferredCommitted to fostering a positive, fun, and team-oriented work environmentDemonstrated history of responsibility, dependability, and maturityFlexible, creative, and adaptable to changing situationsAble to work long hours and be on call as neededStrong organizational skills, including the ability to organize othersCertification Requirements:Valid Lifeguard Certificate from an ACA recognized organizationIdaho Food Handlers Certification
