Job description

BrightTower is a boutique sell-side M&A advisory firm based in New York City. Since launching in 2020, we’ve built strong momentum year over year, creating a durable foundation for strategic and sustained team growth. We are currently about 40 people, close 15-20 deals a year in the $100M-$800M enterprise value range, and work with tech-enabled companies across the software, information, and marketing and business services sectors.

We are currently considering first-year MBA candidates for a 10-week summer internship program (June-Aug).

What you'll do here:

Summer Associates are client-facing and will support our deal teams on live sell-side mandates. Responsibilities vary by engagement and may include building 3-statement operating models running DCF, trading comps, and precedent transactions, providing diligence support such as NWC analysis and EBITDA bridges, and contributing to CIMs and buyer lists.

At a firm our size, teams are lean, senior exposure is meaningful, and the summer tends to be more hands-on and adaptive than at larger banks. We’re looking for self-starters who thrive both independently and as part of a team, do what it takes to get up to speed quickly, and can comfortably take the lead in new and dynamic situations.

Who we’re looking for:

Current MBA candidate graduating in 2028

Demonstrated interest in sell-side M&A specifically - not banking generally

Clear motivation to build expertise in the sectors we cover: software, information, and marketing and business services

Comfortable with financial modeling, or committed to getting there fast

Solid grasp of accounting and valuation fundamentals, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory experience (plus)

Consulting or operating experience in or adjacent to our sectors (plus)

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship or transfer now or in the future.

Compensation:

$175,000 annualized, prorated for the length of the summer program.

Location: This role is fully in-office, five days a week.

Please Note: We carefully review all applications. We ask that applicants remain mindful of our team’s time and limit any direct outreach to our team members.
