Job description

At a Glance
You’re a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university: Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, AI or related STEM field
This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field.
Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027.
In addition to role-specific projects, you’ll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally.

What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.
Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.
This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.
Internship responsibilities may include:
Utilize AI to develop processes to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Assist in analyzing business partner’s operations to understand opportunities for improvement
Translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications to deliver solutions for all technology platforms
Required Qualifications
Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degree
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
Analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication
Project and time management
Ability to collaborate within teams and self-motivate
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
Programming skills in Python, with openness to Java, C++ or Go
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, NumPy and pandas
Working knowledge of version control systems like Git and environments such as Jupyter Notebooks
Basic exposure to modern AI concepts including Large Language Models, prompt engineering and data pipelines
Ability to troubleshoot code, analyze datasets and approach challenges methodically
Portfolio of personal projects or a GitHub profile demonstrating machine learning models or data analysis scripts
