Job description
Environmental Program Manager for Procedure Management at Virginia Department of Transportation in Mechanicsville. Leads statewide environmental programs including Design-Build projects, locally administered projects, and environmental governance documentation. Manages staff, develops procedures, interprets environmental regulations, and ensures VDOT compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws.
Key qualifications:
Knowledge of and ability to interpret federal, state and agency environmental laws, regulations, policies and procedures
Experience in management of professionals and multi-disciplinary teams in environmental programs
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement program goals, strategic plans and operating procedures
Experience in project and performance management
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences including government, legislature, and public
Experience with environmental data management, transportation planning, engineering, and design practices
