Job description
Lifeguard Part Time PoolProvide students, staff, and the public with a safe, friendly, recreational environment to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies.Qualifications:Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, and Advanced CPR CertificationsAmerican Red Cross or Ellis certificationMust be a minimum of 15 years of ageMust pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal backgroundMinimum of one (1) year of lifeguard experience preferredKnowledge of administering first aid and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)Proficiency in swimming and specific rescue techniquesAbility to communicate effectivelyMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Ensures patron safety by strictly enforcing rules and regulations.Performs CPR, Rescue Breathing, or First Aid as needed.Inform the Pool Manager of unsafe conditions or activity inside and in the areas surrounding the facility.Inform the Pool Manager of needed materials and equipment.Performs daily and weekly pool maintenance, including vacuuming and brushing the sides of the pool and other preventative maintenance tasks.Clean, maintain, and protect assigned GISD resources and facilities.Ensures lifeguard certifications remain current.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Perform all other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipmentPosture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Frequent walkingLifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment.Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noiseMental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hoursThis document describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job.
