Come grow with KMC Stampings!Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Extrusion Machine Set-Up/Operator sets-up, adjusts, and operates a variety of machines including multislide, fourslide, and vertical forming machines to perform close tolerance work requiring a high degree of skill. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Usually work is of a complicated nature having critical and exacting requirements as to tolerance and finish. Work with minimal supervision from drawings, specifications, and job instructions. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments including optical comparators. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Set-up, adjust, and operate extrusion machine to form, bend and punch a variety of workWork from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templatesUse caliper, micrometer, comparator & other measuring equipmentSorting and packaging partsVerify quantity & quality of materialComplete & maintain all required paperworkMaintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standardsResponsible for strict adherence to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulationsOther duties as assigned or requiredQualifications:Highly motivated self starterStrong mechanical aptitudeRequires 6-12 months of relevant manufacturing experienceGood math skillsBasic blueprint reading, reading, & writing skillsRegular attendance is required; punctual, dependableStrong attention to detailRegularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch or pull objects, tools, or controlsVision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision & depth perceptionOccasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, & bendMaintains a safe and clean work environmentAbility to work overtime when requiredPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
