Manufacturing SupervisorA growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead 2nd shift operations. This is a temporary opportunity with the potential for long-term employment based on performance and business needs.In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, leading team members, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Manufacturing Supervisor Responsibilities:Leads and develops high-performance teams and cross-departmental, cross-functional improvement teams.Actively supports corporate participative management strategies and programs as they relate to department personnel and client/customer relations.Consistently acts and behaves in a manner that supports high-performance, team-based organization, effectively working to manage safety, quality, schedule, cost, and culture.Sets daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicates them to employees within the assigned department.Uses lean concepts to reduce waste within their departments and improve efficiency.Consistently addresses customer concerns promptly by executing containment measures, driving to root cause, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to minimize or eliminate recurrence.Monitors employee work for quality and quantity, providing feedback and coaching as needed.Assists in procedure revisions to improve efficiency and quality.Enforces company work rules and policies effectivelyAssist in training new employees on how to operate machinesManufacturing Supervisor Qualifications and Skills Required:Must have a background in manufacturing and supervisionAssociate's degree in Manufacturing or experience related to the fieldMinimum 2-4 years in a supervisory/leadership roleExperience working in a union environment is a PLUSKnowledge of lean tools and the ability to lead the team in utilizing lean methodologies.Administer discipline/coaching in conjunction with the Human Resources Dept.Strong knowledge of production processes and safety practicesAbility to motivate teams and drive performanceExcellent problem-solving and organizational skillsExperience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentThis is an excellent opportunity for a proven manufacturing leader looking to make an immediate impact and potentially transition into a long-term role.Pay and Schedule: $40/HR-$45/HR, BOE2nd shift, Monday-Friday 2:20 pm-11:00 pm, overtime as neededLocation: Grand Rapids, MIPosition Type: Full-time, Evaluation Hire
