Job description
Shop Floor PlannerThe Shop Floor Planner is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of work on the production floor in an assembly environment. This role ensures that production schedules are met efficiently and on time, while maintaining alignment with company quality and safety standards. The Shop Floor Planner works closely with cross-functional teams including production, supply chain, quality, and engineering to drive operational excellence and optimize resource utilization.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret production schedules and customer requirements to develop shop floor work plansCoordinate the release of work orders to the production floor, ensuring availability of necessary materials, tools, and resourcesMonitor work progress and ensure adherence to schedules, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlinesCollaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to address material shortages or delays and resolve issues promptlyPartner with the quality team to ensure all production activities meet established quality standardsCommunicate with production supervisors and team leads to prioritize tasks and address bottlenecks or constraintsSupport continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and increase productivityMaintain accurate records of work orders, production schedules, and resource allocationQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experienceStrong understanding of production planning and scheduling principles.
