Job Description Job Description The 3-Axis CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision graphite components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, understands CNC machining processes, and wants to be part of a growing manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines.
Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and specifications.
Load and adjust CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, and work offsets.
Perform tool changes and make machining adjustments when required.
Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and required surface finishes.
Identify machining or quality issues and work with the production and quality teams to resolve them.
Complete production and inspection documentation accurately.
Follow established safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, quality, scrap reduction, and machine utilization.
Work collaboratively with machinists, supervisors, engineering, quality, and operations personnel.
Experience & Skills
Previous experience operating and setting up 3-axis CNC milling machines.
Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and workholding.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience working to tight tolerances.
Ability to use standard inspection and measuring equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
Experience machining graphite is beneficial but not required .
