Job description
Crossing GuardJackson Madison County School System is seeking a crossing guard to assist JMCSS students with crossing traffic intersections and to direct traffic at assigned post before and after school hours when children are entering and leaving school. The job goal is to ensure the safety of school children. The position is part-time, non-exempt.Qualifications and training include a high school diploma or GED, FBI/TBI fingerprint/background clearance every five years, and alternatives as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable.Performance responsibilities include stopping traffic at crosswalks near school for the safety of school children, controlling vehicular or pedestrian traffic at street crossings, assisting children crossing the street going to and returning from school, instructing younger children in the precautions to be taken when crossing the street, and acting quickly in emergencies.The Jackson-Madison County School System provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
