Job description
Make a real difference in the lives of students through dedicated healthcare support as a contract Registered Nurse working closely with children in elementary and high school grades. In this engaging position, you'll provide compassionate 1:1 care, supporting the well-being of students from 1st to 5th and 9th to 10th grades. Your expertise will ensure safe, positive learning environments for children who benefit from individualized medical attention at school.
Qualifications:
Active RN license
Experience in pediatric care, especially in school or clinical settings
Strong ability to provide 1:1 nursing care to students with varied health needs
Knowledge of common childhood conditions, medications, and emergency protocols
Excellent communication skills for partnering with educators, families, and healthcare teams
Adaptability to work with students of different ages and developmental levels
CPR and First Aid certification
A compassionate, patient-centered approach
Responsibilities: Deliver day-to-day 1:1 nursing care to assigned students, supporting their unique health needs
Administer prescribed medications and treatments
Monitor vital signs and respond to medical issues swiftly
Maintain accurate health records and care documentation
Communicate student progress and pertinent health information to parents and school staff
Support students academically by providing a safe, healthy environment
Educate students, families, and staff on relevant health topics as needed
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on care plans when required
