Job Opportunity at Metalcraft of MayvilleMetalcraft of Mayville is looking for an experienced 3rd Shift Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team!In this role, you'll operate laser cutting equipment, perform machine setups, de-nest and finish parts, and help ensure quality products are produced safely and efficiently in our fast-paced, just-in-time manufacturing environment.We're looking for someone with a strong Laser or CNC background who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable troubleshooting equipment and making adjustments to keep production moving.If you have hands-on Laser or CNC experience and enjoy working in a technical manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 LasersVerify material type and thickness and load material into the laser stockerDe-nest laser-cut parts and remove laser oxide as neededInspect completed work to ensure parts meet quality specificationsComplete assigned work according to established production and quality standardsIdentify and troubleshoot machine alignment and cutting condition issuesTroubleshoot minor programming errors independentlyApply a basic understanding of G and M codesRead and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentationCross-train on multiple laser platforms and manufacturing cellsEnter production time and completed work into our computer data collection systemSafely operate a forklift to move and handle materialsReport and document material, production, and quality issuesMaintain equipment performance logs and communicate maintenance needsParticipate in operator-level preventative maintenanceAssist with training other team members on laser setup and operation as neededFollow all company and plant safety proceduresAssist in other production areas as neededQualificationsStrong Laser and/or CNC machine operating experienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbility to read and interpret blueprintsBasic understanding of G and M codesStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to perform basic shop mathExperience with dimensional measuring and the ability to use precision measurement toolsBasic computer skillsAbility to safely operate a forkliftStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentSelf-motivated with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvementPrevious experience working in a highly technical manufacturing environmentMitsubishi Laser experienceExperience operating an overhead crane
