Job description
Quality Control SpecialistIndividual is responsible for quality functions and operating the waterjet, abrasive waterjet, shot peen, grit blast, and thermal spray machines for processing components in PROGRESSIVE'S Process Services Department. This position is classified as safety-sensitive for FAA purposes.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:Visual inspection of parts to customer standardsMaintain product flow through inspection processComplete documentation of quality control paperworkProduct non-conformance documentation and controlMeasuring and recording critical attributes using height gauge, calipers, or micrometerComputer knowledge (Excel and Word) essentialMetallurgical preparation and evaluationMiscellaneous responsibilities include:Operate Process Services EquipmentPerforms other work related duties as assignedQualifications to perform this job successfully include:High school graduate or equivalentAttention to details and specificationsComputer literateMaterials knowledge and usesManufacturing procedure backgroundPrint reading skillsAbility to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbersAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
