Bakersfield is a family friendly community with plentiful parks, recreational activities like golf and white-water rafting, and with a more attractive cost of living than many other California cities. Take a stroll through our antique district, arts district, and enjoy the symphony orchestra without having to leave town. Dubbed, “Nashville Westâ€, Bakersfield is renowned for its contributions to country music and is the home of many recording artists.
Bakersfield enjoys a low desert climate with warm, arid days and plenty of sunshine—in fact, Bakersfield has more sunny days than any other city in the Central Valley. Exploring is easy, with Bakersfield conveniently located within a two hour drive from bustling downtown Los Angeles, gorgeous Pacific Coast beaches, or the high mountains of Sequoia National Park. Live better in Bakersfield!
