A-Level Automotive Technician | Up to $140k+
Lead Diagnostic Technician (A-Level) | $104K Guaranteed Base + Production Bonus | Up to $140K+ | Mon–Fri, No Weekends

You're the tech other techs bring the hard ones to. The intermittent no-start. The network fault two other shops gave up on. You're good, and you're productive, and you want to be paid like it without working Saturdays.
We're a family-owned independent shop that has served Oakland for over 40 years. The owner came up as a diagnostic tech. That means your diag work is understood here, not second-guessed.
The pay
$50/hr base , 40 hours a week: $104,000 a year guaranteed
Plus $60 for every flag hour over 40 per week
Flag 52 hours in a 40-hour week and you earn about $141,000 a year
The base covers your hours. The bonus rewards production. Comeback hours don't count toward the bonus, so quality work pays.
The schedule
Monday–Friday, full-time. No weekends.
What you'll do
Diagnose and repair complex electrical, drivability, and CAN/network concerns
Handle general repair across most makes and models
Perform complete digital vehicle health inspections, with clear photos and accurate findings the advisor can explain to the customer
Quality-check every repair before the car leaves your bay: verify the fix, road test when needed, and confirm nothing was left loose, leaking, or unfinished
Produce 50–52 flag hours in a 40-hour week
Mentor our younger technicians and work closely with our service advisors
Grow into a foreman role
What we're looking for
8+ years of professional shop experience at A-level
Strong electrical and network diagnostic skills with factory-level procedures and scan tools
Your own diagnostic tools
ASE Master or L1 preferred
Someone who fixes it right the first time, checks their own work, and takes pride in it
A good teammate: patient with younger techs and straightforward with advisors
