A-Shift Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Medical OncologyJoin a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and essential patient care in a supportive environment. This part-time role on A-shifts offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in medical oncology under the guidance of licensed nursing professionals.General SummaryUnder the supervision of a licensed nurse (RN, LPN, or shift manager), the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) delivers direct patient care with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes.Perform basic patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities.Collaborate closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs promptly and enhance the overall patient experience.Accurately document all patient care activities to support clinical decision-making.Effectively communicate relevant patient information to healthcare team members to improve outcomes.EducationHigh school diploma or GED preferred.ExperienceOne year of experience and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.Certification/LicenseIf uncertified or with less than one year of experience, candidates must complete a PCA training academy. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided.Mental and Physical RequirementsThis role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.Working ConditionsFrequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
