Job description
ABE FacilitatorAssists with the administration of the English as a Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes which include students coming to earn their high school equivalency diploma (GED). Assessment will be one phase of this job. It will also include other duties as assigned to maintain efficiency in the programs.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Greet adult students and visitors to the building, manage entrance doorDetermine appropriate pre and post-assessments for adult students; administer, score and record results.Assign contact hours and classes to adult students based on assessment resultsAssist ABE Coordinator with program communication and providing daily structure for a successful programOrder supplies for the programSupport teachers by generating reports as neededRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in related fieldExperience working with diverse populations.Demonstrate ability to be culturally and linguistically responsive with ability to work across differenceExcellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communicationHighly detail-oriented and organized, able to multi-task and be flexibleProficient with Microsoft Office and familiarity and comfort with spreadsheetsTeam player not afraid to do the small things as well as the big thingsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in Adult Basic EducationBi-Lingual Qualified to administer Pearson tests, or willing to become qualifiedExperience with software such as MABE ISD 622Universal Competencies:Accountability — Accept personal and shared accountability for the results of our work with learnersIntegrity — Demonstrate the core values of openness, honesty and integrity in every interactionExcellence — Seek excellence and attain high levels of achievement in every endeavorAchievement — Focus on the results of action (learning) and not the action itself (teaching)Courage — Do what needs to be done because it is the right thing to doTeamwork — Willing to collaborateRespect — Respect every individual and provide high levels of service for internal and external customersApplication Procedure: Apply online at Human Resources/Employment Opportunities Independent School District No, 622, North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale, does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any education program or activity.
