Job Title: Access Control Technician
nJob Description
nWe are seeking an experienced Access Control Technician to join our team and support commercial security installation projects in the Savannah, GA region. This contract-to-hire position offers the opportunity to work independently and contribute immediately with minimal training.
nResponsibilities
nnnInstall access control devices including card readers, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, strikes, magnetic locks, and associated hardware.
n
nnInstall, terminate, troubleshoot, and support commercial security and access control systems.
n
nnRead and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation.
n
nnPerform system testing, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
n
nnTroubleshoot wiring issues, device failures, and system operation problems.
n
nnProgram, configure, and support security system components as required.
n
nnCollaborate with Project Managers to execute project schedules and deliverables.
n
nnCommunicate directly with customers and other trades on project sites.
n
nnMaintain accurate project documentation and communicate progress updates.
n
nnOperate independently while maintaining customer service standards.
n
n nEssential Skills
nnnMinimum 3+ years of verifiable access control or commercial security installation experience.
n
nnReliable transportation.
n
nnValid driver's license.
n
nnAbility to travel throughout the Savannah service territory.
n
nnAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.
n
nnUnderstanding of access control devices, wiring methods, and troubleshooting.
n
nnWorking knowledge of circuits, electrical systems, and low-voltage installation practices.
n
nnStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
n
nnMechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and power tools.
n
nnStrong communication and customer interaction skills.
n
nnStable work history.
n
nnAbility to confidently discuss prior project experience during technical interviews.
n
n nAdditional Skills & Qualifications
nnn5+ years of access control installation experience.
n
nnExperience with platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, OpenPath.
n
nnExperience with CCTV and integrated security systems.
n
nnExperience with electronic door hardware, strikes, mag locks, and related devices.
n
nnElectrical backgrd or formal electrical training.
n
nnOSHA 10 certification.
n
nnScissor lift certification.
n
nnExperience working in commercial construction environments.
n
nnExperience supporting healthcare, education, municipal, industrial, or large commercial projects.
n
nnCustomer-facing service experience.

nWork Environment
nThe work environment involves supporting commercial projects from Monday to Friday, 8-5pm. This role requires proficiency in construction skills and understanding of system plans, with familiarity in blueprints, design drawings, wiring methods, and cable support installations.
nJob Type & Location
nThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.
nPay and Benefits
nThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
nIndividual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
