nJob Title: Access Control Technician Reports To: General Manager or Franchise Owner
nKey Areas of Responsibility:
nThe Access Control Technician position is an integral part of FlyLock Security Solutions - Salt Lake City and is key to the growth of the company. All Access Control Technicians must have the ability to work well in a high-paced working environment. The individual must work well as part of the team and independently from the FlyLock owner. The Access Control Technician position is a hands-on technical position geared toward an individual who has a technical mindset. Ideal candidates will have locksmithing knowledge and demonstrate the ability to learn new technical methods and techniques.
nRequirements/Responsibilities
nMinimum of 2 years experience in technical hands-on field experience in security solutions, access control, door hardware, and other skilled trades.
nInspects, installs, and services all basic and complex commercial and residential access and video systems.
nPerforms advanced, complex troubleshooting and repair functions for commercial and residential access and video systems such as programming; cleaning detectors; testing controls and peripheral devices; mounting, replacing, and testing equipment according to specifications; running cable, etc.
nInstructs customers in access and video systems operation by recommending ways to use additional features and capabilities of system installations.
nRespond to customer questions and requests.
nRecommend corrective services to adjust customer complaints.
nDiffuses difficult and complex customer issues.
nBuilds and maintains working relations with the sales staff.
nDefines the scope of add-ons and change orders, seeks customer approval, and writes up paperwork.
nPerforms site visits with sales consultants for existing or potential clients.
nTakes responsibility for the project from first walk-through to final sign-off and hand-offs to service.
nMaintains accurate records of all inspections/service calls and troubleshooting as required including documentation and updating paperwork.
nActs as onsite project lead to meet project timelines and goals and oversees lead technicians, technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors.
nOther duties as required by management.

nPhysical Requirements:
nMust be able to fluently understand, speak, and write English.

nAbility to climb a ladder and work above ground.
