Access Representative - Patient Registration SpecialistFaison, NC $32,099 - $42,099 a yearJob Type: Full TimeSummary: Join a compassionate team dedicated to providing accurate and detailed demographic, financial, and clinical information to ensure smooth and complete patient admissions and registrations. This role requires warmth, responsiveness, and professionalism when interacting with patients, their families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.Key Responsibilities:Enter and verify patient demographics in the system to obtain accurate medical records and account numbers.Communicate collection policies and collect outstanding balances, deposits, and point-of-service payments.Verify insurance benefits and secure prior authorizations as needed.Ensure Medicare patient diagnoses comply with guidelines and obtain Advance Beneficiary Notices when necessary.Obtain physician orders to support services rendered and order ancillary tests within the system.Assist insurance companies, physician offices, and other departments with patient information.Coordinate patient placement through bed control functions efficiently and with patient focus.Perform other duties as assigned.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of insurance or clerical experience in a hospital or medical office setting. Knowledge of insurance processes, payment collections, and medical terminology is advantageous.Skills and Abilities: Proficient typing and data entry skills to meet productivity standards. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong customer service skills with diverse populations. Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to manage complexity and stress in a dynamic healthcare environment. Dexterity to operate office equipment and handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving files and assisting patients.Physical Requirements: May experience eyestrain from prolonged computer use. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and moving patients or baggage as needed.This position is based in a regional healthcare setting serving the Southeastern United States.
