Access Specialist | Patient Access RepresentativeCrocker, MO $32,099 - $42,099 a yearFull TimeJoin a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your role as a Patient Access Representative is vital in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for patients. You will be the first point of contact, assisting patients through registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and providing essential support throughout their healthcare journey.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet patients warmly and collect accurate demographic and insurance information, ensuring data is entered correctly into the system.Update patient records and obtain necessary consents and forms.Verify insurance coverage through direct contact with providers or electronic systems, securing pre-authorizations or referrals as needed.Explain insurance benefits and financial responsibilities clearly to patients.Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly answering calls, addressing concerns, and providing information.Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other payments in line with organizational policies.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and assist with claims processing and patient satisfaction efforts.Support patients in navigating online portals and adapt flexibly to shifting work assignments.EducationA high school diploma or GED is required. Completion of a certificate or diploma program in Medical Front Office or Medical Terminology is preferred.ExperienceAt least six months of experience in office, call center, customer service, or healthcare settings is preferred. Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment is necessary.Mental and Physical RequirementsThe role demands strong attention to detail and the ability to concentrate under time constraints. You will frequently use computers with interruptions and must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, assist and transport patients in wheelchairs, and lift up to 10 pounds.Working ConditionsWork is performed in a standard office environment with occasional exposure to noise, fumes, chemicals, and other hazards. Flexibility to work varying shifts is required.
