Job description

We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Subject Matter Expert to support enterprise digital accessibility initiatives and ensure compliance with accessibility standards across web applications, digital documents, multimedia, forms, and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in WCAG 2.0/2.1 (AA/AAA), Section 508 compliance, accessibility testing, remediation, and stakeholder collaboration while driving accessibility best practices throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance on accessible design principles and best practices for web applications, digital documents, multimedia, forms, and enterprise systems.

Collaborate with stakeholders to support accessibility remediation efforts across public-facing digital content.

Ensure accessibility initiatives align with established compliance standards, organizational policies, and user experience best practices.

Participate in requirements analysis to incorporate accessibility requirements into solution design.

Assist in developing operational procedures and documentation based on accessibility standards and established processes.

Perform accessibility testing for websites and digital content using assistive technologies and automated accessibility testing tools.

Conduct accessibility audits for websites, documents, forms, and multimedia content to evaluate compliance with WCAG 2.0/2.1 (AA/AAA), Section 508, and applicable accessibility standards.

Prepare detailed accessibility assessment reports with actionable remediation recommendations.

Identify accessibility issues and collaborate with development and content teams to support remediation efforts.

Develop and deliver accessibility training sessions, workshops, and supporting documentation for internal teams.

Conduct office hours to assist content developers with accessibility-related questions and best practices.

Create accessible templates and resources to improve the efficiency of accessible content creation.

Respond to accessibility-related inquiries and provide guidance to ensure timely resolution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to promote an organization-wide accessibility culture.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in digital accessibility or a related field.

Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).

Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, WCAG 2.0, Section 508, and ADA accessibility requirements.

Hands-on experience remediating web content, digital documents, multimedia, and forms for accessibility compliance.

Proficiency with accessibility testing tools such as axe, WAVE, PAC, and WorldSpace.

Experience using assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, TalkBack, VoiceOver, and Adobe Acrobat accessibility tools.

Experience conducting accessibility audits and preparing compliance reports.

Strong understanding of accessible design principles and digital user experience best practices.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across complex organizations.

Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing accessibility policies, standards, and operational procedures.

Experience creating accessibility training programs, templates, and educational materials.

Experience supporting accessibility compliance for large enterprise or public-sector organizations.

Knowledge of accessible document creation using Microsoft Office applications and PDF remediation tools.

Passion for improving digital accessibility and inclusive user experiences for individuals with disabilities.
