Account Director, Fashion I Fashion & Lifestyle PR Agency I New York, NY
A leading boutique fashion and lifestyle PR agency is seeking an experienced Account Director, Fashion to join its New York team.
This is a senior account leadership opportunity for an established PR professional with a strong background in fashion communications and a proven track record of managing sophisticated client relationships, leading teams and delivering high-impact media campaigns.
Working closely with senior agency leadership, the Account Director will oversee a portfolio of fashion and lifestyle clients, provide strategic direction across accounts and play a key role in developing both client relationships and junior talent.
The Role
Lead day-to-day strategy and account management across a portfolio of fashion and lifestyle clients, acting as a senior point of contact and trusted advisor
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, founders, executives and brand teams
Develop and implement strategic PR and communications programmes aligned with client objectives, brand positioning and the wider cultural landscape
Lead account planning, media strategy, proactive pitching, campaign development and execution
Maintain and leverage strong relationships with top-tier fashion, lifestyle, culture and luxury media across print, digital and broadcast
Drive high-impact editorial coverage and brand visibility across relevant fashion and lifestyle media
Develop creative, culturally relevant ideas and opportunities that generate meaningful attention for clients
Oversee VIP, celebrity and talent relationships, including product seeding, partnerships and strategic brand moments
Lead and support client events, fashion week activity, press appointments, launches, activations and other high-profile initiatives
Manage and mentor account teams, providing clear direction, feedback and support to ensure consistently high standards of work
Review and oversee client materials, pitches, media strategies, reports and presentations
Ensure exceptional client service, proactive communication and strategic thinking across all accounts
Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and contribute to new business pitches and agency development
Work closely with senior agency leadership on client strategy, team development and wider agency initiatives
Represent the agency and its clients at relevant fashion, media and industry events
Remain close to the work and actively involved in strategy, creative development, pitching and execution while providing senior-level account leadership
What We're Looking For
8+ years of experience in fashion, luxury, beauty and/or lifestyle PR, ideally within a leading agency environment
Significant experience managing fashion and lifestyle accounts and acting as a senior client lead
Proven ability to develop and execute sophisticated PR and communications strategies
Established relationships across top-tier fashion, lifestyle, culture and luxury media
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing account teams
Strong understanding of the fashion landscape, including media, talent, cultural trends, brand positioning and the evolving communications environment
Excellent client management skills, with the confidence and judgment to operate as a senior strategic advisor
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional pitching, presentation and storytelling abilities
Commercially minded, with an interest in account growth, new business and contributing to the wider development of the agency
Strategic, highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced agency environment
A hands-on leadership style, with a willingness to remain close to the work and support teams across both strategy and execution
Genuine enthusiasm for fashion, culture, media and the creative side of agency life
New York City-based and comfortable working within a hybrid environment

$120,000–$135,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
