Account Director, Paid Search – Ecommerce

Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

The Account Director, Paid Search – Ecommerce will act as a strategic partner to LDX Digital’s ecommerce clients, leading account direction, performance strategy, and growth initiatives across Google Ads.

This role sits above traditional account management and focuses on driving measurable business outcomes, not just campaign oversight. You will work closely with founders and marketing leaders to scale paid acquisition while maintaining efficiency and alignment with overall business goals.

The ideal candidate has experience in agency or consulting environments within the ecommerce paid search space and understands how to translate performance marketing into real business growth. You should be comfortable advising not only on media buying, but also on funnel performance, creative direction, and operational considerations that impact results.

Key Responsibilities

Lead growth initiatives across Google Ads, including Search, YouTube, Shopping, and Performance Max

Advise on scaling strategies while maintaining efficiency across CPA, MER, and contribution margin

Identify opportunities across budgets, channels, creatives, and funnels to drive growth

Client Partnership

Act as the primary strategic point of contact for clients

Lead client calls, performance reviews, and strategic planning sessions

Provide clear, data-backed recommendations and direction

Build strong relationships with founders, operators, and marketing teams

Performance Oversight

Work closely with media buyers to ensure execution aligns with strategy

Interpret performance data and guide optimizations and priorities

Identify risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement across accounts

Ensure campaigns scale effectively while maintaining strong fundamentals

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with creative strategists and media buyers to align on testing and execution

Provide input on creative direction, messaging, and testing frameworks

Ensure internal teams remain aligned with client goals and strategy

Strategic Planning

Develop growth roadmaps, testing plans, and scaling strategies

Align budget allocation with performance goals and business objectives

Continuously refine strategy based on data, testing outcomes, and market trends

Qualifications

4–7+ years of experience in performance marketing, account strategy, or client-facing roles

Strong experience with Google Ads for ecommerce brands, including Search, YouTube, Shopping, and Performance Max

Background in an agency, consulting, or performance-driven environment

Proven ability to scale accounts while maintaining or improving efficiency

Strong understanding of direct-response marketing and full-funnel strategy

Ability to translate performance metrics into business insights and recommendations

Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead strategic conversations

Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Experience

Experience working for or operating an in-house ecommerce brand

Exposure to financial metrics such as MER, contribution margin, and forecasting

Strong understanding of landing pages, funnels, and conversion optimization

What Success Looks Like

Clients view you as a strategic partner, not just an account manager

Accounts scale in spend and revenue while maintaining efficiency

Clear, confident communication that drives alignment and trust

Strong collaboration across strategy, media buying, and creative

Proactive identification of opportunities that lead to measurable growth

Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 annually

Final compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

Benefits: Full-time W-2 employees are eligible for company-sponsored medical coverage, with LDX covering 100% of the employee-only premium.
