Account Representative-Medical Insurance Collections Specialist - FT - Baptist M&S Imaging Business OfficeSan Antonio, Texas Baptist M&S Imaging Category Imaging Job ID 94968 Status Full-Time/RegularProvide quality, timely, courteous service, and optimum maintenance of patient accounts, including dissemination of information, billing services, follow-up, and collection of accounts receivable, bad debt, governmental, and contract compliance issues/guidelinesMINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience in hospital business office, insurance claims processing, physician office billing and/or hospital admitting and PC/CRTPREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 3 years recent in hospital business office. Basic medical terminology; working knowledge of third-party payors, federal, state, and local billing regulations; and bilingual (English and Spanish)Shift: DaysHours: 8am to 5pmRequired Skills:General Functions:Demonstrates required skills for communication with various health insurance providersPossesses moderate billing knowledge, with the ability to perform remittance review and analysisFollows-up on secondary insurance billing, Medicaid appeals and denials and commercial appealsIdentifies late charges and credit correctionsAdds insurance profilesCommunicates appeals to insurance company regarding denialsHandles discounts, clinical pre-certification issuesDepartment/Business Unit Functions:Verifies eligibility from various insurance agenciesRetrieves patient accountsAddresses letters from Medicare, works with prompt pay issuesMakes insurance follow-up callsPerforms corrections and updates to the insurance masterFiles, faxes, copies and performs other clerical dutiesPerforms data entry, work processing and correspondence dutiesPerforms special projects as assignedUtilizes resources efficiently and effectivelyMaintains safe environmentParticipates in Performance Improvement activities
