Account Representative | Patient Services CoordinatorJoin a dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Services Coordinator, providing essential clerical support and care coordination in a dynamic regional healthcare setting in the Midwest. This role involves assisting clients through admission processes, managing registration and financial enrollment, and ensuring accurate insurance verification.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate admission duties and assist clients in completing necessary paperwork, including releases of information.Register new clients and handle financial enrollment procedures.Collect and verify insurance details to maintain up-to-date records.Assess client needs by evaluating acuity and gathering relevant historical information.Schedule follow-up appointments based on care level assignments.Perform clerical tasks and maintain business records efficiently.Manage collections, including outstanding balances and copayments.Provide receptionist support by greeting clients, directing them appropriately, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining a welcoming office environment.Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the team.EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework, especially in Microsoft applications or health/behavioral sciences, is preferred.ExperienceOne to three years of experience in medical records, filing, and secretarial duties is required. Experience with referral processing and coordinating access to treatment is beneficial. Preferred candidates have three to five years of experience handling phone communications, medical records, and filing personal health information.Requirements and SkillsProficient computer literacy with basic Microsoft tools.Familiarity with alpha-numeric filing systems.Strong integrity and accountability, demonstrating honesty and ownership of tasks.Compassionate approach with excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage conflict constructively.Respectful collaboration with diverse populations and a positive service orientation.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to think strategically and manage day-to-day operations.Training in HIPAA and personal health information handling is preferred.This position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, providing a meaningful opportunity to contribute to quality patient care in a supportive regional healthcare environment.
