Accountant – Operational Finance & Revenue Recognition
Mostly Remote | Quarterly Meetings in Charlotte, NC
Carolina PRG is partnering with a growing national infrastructure services company to hire an Accountant for its operational finance team. This opportunity combines core accounting with project financial reporting, revenue recognition, and collaboration with operational leaders.
The role offers broad exposure across accounting and finance, with a development path toward an Operations Controller or Accounting/Finance Manager position. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone ready to transition from a large public accounting firm into industry or build on prior public accounting experience.
What You’ll Do
Support month-end close through journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Apply ASC 606 and percentage-of-completion accounting to support accurate project revenue recognition.
Prepare work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, job cost reports, and project budgets.
Analyze actual and projected project results and discuss findings with finance and operational leadership.
Review contracts and potential change orders for their accounting implications.
Support project setup, inventory-related reporting, and annual audit preparation.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
2–5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
ASC 606 and percentage-of-completion accounting experience required.
Active CPA or currently pursuing the CPA designation required.
Current or prior experience with a Big 4 or other large public accounting firm strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, advanced Excel skills, and experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational teams.
