nWe're seeking a Staff Accountant who is highly attentive to detail, self-motivated, and brings a positive team player attitude. This role is a key member of our accounting team at MTS headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN, with a focus on transactional tax and Accounts Receivable.
nWhat You'll Do:
nnnPrepare monthly sales and use tax reports timely and accurately for U.S. and Canada
n
nnMaintain tax notices, records, returns, and customer exemption certificates for proper record keeping
n
nnPrepare, file, and pay business property tax for assets assigned to MTS Field Service Engineers
n
nnManage and maintain MTS business licenses and applicable compliance documentation
n
nnProcess customer invoices to online portals and provide customer statements upon request
n
nnCommunicate past due balances to customers and collect payment for outstanding invoices
n
nnProcess customer credit card payments
n
nnActively participate in month-end close by preparing journal entries, and reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts
n
nnTroubleshoot and resolve discrepancies for AR or transactional tax balances
n
nnAssist with maintaining and improving the internal control environment, including SOX controls and external audit readiness
n
nnEnsure daily operations comply with internal and external control requirements, and prepare documentation to support audits
n
nnUtilize the ITW Toolbox and 80/20 philosophy to analyze and simplify finance and accounting processes and workflows
n
n nWhat You Bring:
nnn2 year accounting or related degree
n
nnFundamental knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting concepts and terminology
n
nn0-5 years of accounts receivable/credit and collections experience with exposure to general accounting and sales and use tax
n
nnStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
n
nnEffective communication skills across functions and levels
n
nnBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
n
nnExperience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP) preferred
n
nnExperience with Avalara or similar transactional tax software preferred
n
nnSalesforce or other CRM software experience preferred
n

nCompensation Information:
nThe compensation for this position ranges from $60,000-$75,000 based on relevant education and experience.
