nPosition Overview:
nThe Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting all aspects of the month-end close process. This role delivers clear, insightful analyses of financial performance to management and helps drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and strengthen financial systems.

nOn-site in Erwin, TN
nYour Day to Day as an Accountant:
nnnMaintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
n
nnPrepare and review journal entries to support the month-end close process.
n
nnComplete monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
n
nnAnalyze capital spending and perform ROI evaluations.
n
nnProduce timely financial reports, ad‑hoc analyses, and actionable insights for management.
n
nnUphold data integrity through thorough reconciliations and review procedures.
n
nnEnsure compliance with SOX controls and support internal and external audit requests.
n
nnPrepare, review, and analyze financial statements.
n
nnAssist with quarterly forecasting activities.
n
nnContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across multiple financial systems.
n
n nRequired Minimum Qualifications:
nnnBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
n
nn3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
n
nnExperience using Microsoft Excel.
n
nnStrong organizational & analytical skills.
n
nnAbility to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
n
nnAbility to report to work onsite at BWXT's Erwin, TN office location.
n
nnMust be a U.S. citizen.
n
nnMust be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.
n
n nPreferred Qualifications:
nnn5-10 years' experience in accounting and finance.
n
nnMaster’s degree in accounting or finance.
n
nnCPA or CMA certification.
n
nnExperience with multi-site accounting operations.
n
nnFamiliarity with ERP systems and their implementation.
n
nnExperience in SAP and OneStream.
n

nThe base salary range for this position in ((stateProvince)) at the start of employment is expected to be between $((cust_salaryMin)) and $((cust_salaryMax)) per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
