nPOSITION DESCRIPTION
nnCoordinate and maintain an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of each client by: 1. Preparing and examining accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports. 2. Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures for the accounting department. Ensuring that policies and procedures reflect current regulations and that the accounting procedures are in strict compliance with GAAP. 3. Assisting with financial reporting, financial analyses, cash management, and forecasting reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. 4. Assisting with general ledger reconciliations, analysis of financial accounts, and preparation of journal entries. 5. Provide end-of-month close and assist with monthly financial statements. 6. Assisting the CFO Advisor with budgets and periodic analysis of budget variances. 7. Conducting special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested by management. 8. Supporting the CFO Advisor with Client Relationships. 9. Responsible for providing prompt, professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous service to members and coworkers.
nQuarterly 5300 Call Report Preparation.
nTake responsibility for increasing job knowledge, familiarity with credit union operations, training and problem-solving skills.
nProperly and effectively track time spent, detailed task management, and project statuses within established Project Management Software in accordance with documented policy and standards.
nOther duties assigned.

nInternal
nnUphold CU*SOUTH Code of Conduct and PRAISE Core Values.
nProvide same-day response to all internal inquiries received by noon that day, provide next-day response to all others, establishing priority to urgency on all requests.
nProvide internal support to all CUSO Development lines of business accordingly, to advocate and encourage internal collaboration.
n nExternal
nnUphold CU*SOUTH Code of Conduct and PRAISE Core Values.
nAdhere to timelines provided to Clients and communicate necessary changes to implementation timelines clearly and effectively.
n nJOB QUALIFICATIONS
nnHigh School graduate or equivalent is required.
nB.A. in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent and five years’ related accounting experience preferred.
nPrior job experience in the credit union/banking back-office accounting is required.
nFamiliarity with credit union operations, regulations, and frontline job roles preferred.
nExcellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills is required.
nMust be willing to travel to client sites to provide training and support as needed.
nAbility to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data is non-negotiable.
nFundamental knowledge of GAAP.
nProficient with MS products.
nDetail and deadline-oriented
nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
nExcellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills are required.
nThoroughness, excellent attention to detail, and good problem-solving skills are required.
