nPosition Summary
nThe Accountant I is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role ensures timely processing of financial transactions, maintains organized accounting records, and assists with month-end and year-end procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to accuracy while demonstrating a desire to learn and grow within the accounting profession.
nEssential Responsibilities
nAccounts Payable
nnProcess vendor invoices accurately and timely.
nMatch purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
nPrepare weekly payment runs via check, ACH, or electronic payment.
nMaintain vendor files and W-9 documentation.
nReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
nRespond to vendor inquiries professionally.
n nAccounts Receivable
nnPrepare and distribute customer invoices.
nRecord customer payments and deposits.
nMonitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections.
nMaintain accurate customer account records.
n nGeneral Bookkeeping
nnRecord daily financial transactions.
nMaintain the general ledger through accurate journal entries.
nReconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
nAssist with monthly closing procedures.
nMaintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
nPrepare recurring financial reports for management.
n nPayroll Support
nnAssist with payroll processing and recordkeeping.
nMaintain employee payroll documentation.
nEnsure payroll transactions are accurately recorded.
n nDesired Qualifications
nnAssociate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
n2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience preferred.
nWorking knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
nExperience using accounting software.
nStrong organizational and time management skills.
nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.
nAbility to maintain confidentiality with financial information.
nStrong written and verbal communication skills.
