nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

nnnExperience with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) functions.

n

nnOne year (1) employment experience working in a professional office environment performing administrative or clerical functions.

n

nnOne year (1) employment experience communicating with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.

n

nnOne year (1) employment experience preparing correspondence and documentation.

n

nnComputer proficiency and demonstrable experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and the use of web-based software.

n

nnAbility to work independently.

n

nnAbility to research policies and procedures and communicate findings.

n

nnAbility and desire to work in a fast-paced, team environment.

n

nnAbility to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.

n

nnAbility to act on changing priorities and responsibilities.

n

nnAbility to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.

n

nnExcellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.

nnWillingness to work weekends and holidays as required.

nnSuccessful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not be limited to, a Level II background screening and drug test.

n n nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

nnnExperience in resolving complex accounting issues.

n

nnKnowledge of local, state and federal requirements related to business office operations, financial reporting and financial record keeping.

n

nnExperience in a long-term health care environment (nursing home; skilled nursing; or assisted living facility).

n

nnExperience with medical finance (medical billing; claims processing, etc.)

n

nnExperience using State of Florida software systems: FLAIR; ULTRA Care; SolAce; V-TRACs and MFMP.

n

n nPOSITION DESCRIPTION:

nThe incumbent will assist the Business Office Manager with the following duties:

nnnPerforms duties involving the independent application of accounting skills and coordination of fiscal-related matters under the supervision of the Business Manager.

n

nnMonitors and ensures accurate census count with current payer source.

n

nnProvide timely reports as designated by facility administration and/or Headquarters.

n

nnResponsible for performing accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions to support business office staff to include, but not limited to:

n

nnMaintenance of the Resident Trust Fund account

n

nnPreparation of monthly, quarterly and end of fiscal year financial reports

n

nnProcessing invoices, vouchers and payments for bills

n

nnAssist and/or backup the Business Manager as directed.

n

nnReview requisitions for supplies/equipment to assure expenditures are within the established budget and in accordance with Department purchasing guidelines, regulations, standards and Florida Statutes.

n

nnCompile and prepare reports to verify the accuracy of monies collected and deposited into resident & facility accounts.

n

nnEnsure monies are forwarded to the Department’s Fiscal Officer.

n

nnFile inquiries, reconsiderations and appeals to the appropriate agency or individual(s) for rejected statements.

n

nnPerforms other related duties as required. Provides support to other facility administrative staff as directed.

n

n nThis position is in the Career Service system.
