About The Role:

nUnder limited direct supervision, apply cash and accrual accounting principles to prepare, analyze, maintain, and deliver complete and accurate financial reports for a portfolio of CBRE clients and properties.

nPlease Note:

nnnThis is a hybrid opportunity. This role will require you to work 1 day in our Bloomington office.

n

nnThe starting compensation for this position ranges between $50,000 - $55,000 annually.

n

nnThis position is a part of an expansive career development path. CBRE is looking for accountants to develop into senior partners.

n

n nWhat You'll Do:

nnnComplete accounting transactions in preparation of client financial statement packages. Create and post journal entries. Ensures that all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted.

n

nnGenerate and review financial packages for accuracy and comprehensive reporting. Prepares packages on a schedule to ensure timely delivery to the client and other management teams.

n

nnAdhere to Client Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP) to ensure internal and external reporting requirements are consistently met.

n

nnReview and audit funding and payment requests for accuracy, documentation, and authorization in accordance with established operating procedures.

n

nnRespond to and resolve issues and requests from management teams and clients regarding various accounting issues and reports, including Profit and Loss statements.

n

nnParticipate in budgeting and forecasting for assigned property portfolio, new property and client transitions, and client audit requests.

n

nnAssist in training team members on portfolio specific transitions.

n

nnMonitor scope of services delivered and provides results to manager regarding any changes in scope.

n

nnCoordinate work with other team members within single point-of-contact (SPOC) guidelines.

n nWhat You'll Need:

nnnDegree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field required. In lieu of a degree, an associate degree plus 2 years working experience or high school diploma plus four years of related work experience required. A minimum of two years prior accounting, finance, or related experience required. Experience with real estate accounting software preferred.

n

nnExcellent written and social skills, organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely and reliable service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

n

nnKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations including knowledge of financial terms and principles to include accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP). Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts intermediate financial analysis.

nnAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret sophisticated documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

n

nnKnowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite Products). Ability to work in multiple accounting software applications.

n

nnDecisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and goals. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

nCBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Accountant position is $50,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Accountant position is $55,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
