Construction Accountant
Are you an experienced Accountant looking to grow your career in the construction industry ? Our client, a growing local construction company , is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join their team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in job costing, project accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable .
Construction Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger transactions.
Perform construction job costing , track project budgets, and monitor project profitability.
Prepare progress billings, change orders, and retainage calculations .
Reconcile accounts and prepare accurate financial statements and reports .
Assist with financial audits, documentation, and reporting requirements.
Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of construction project finances.
Support tax filings and maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations.
Monitor project costs and help identify budget variances and potential financial issues.
Construction Accountant Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience , preferably within the construction industry or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
CPA designation is a plus.
Knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, project billing, and financial reporting .
Experience with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, or QuickBooks Contractor is preferred.
Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and financial priorities.
