Job description
Position: Accountant (Remote)
Location: Remote
Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 / Annually
Benefits: 401(k), medical, dental, and vision
About the Role
We are looking for an Accountant to support month-end close, reporting, and compliance in a large, operationally complex environment. You'll work closely with teams across the business and take real ownership of your accounting work.
What You'll Do
Prepare and post journal entries
Perform balance sheet reconciliations
Analyze P&L and balance sheet activity
Support month-end close
Prepare monthly and quarterly operational reporting
Analyze financial activity and investigate discrepancies
Support internal controls, GAAP compliance, SOX, and other statutory requirements
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Support capital expenditures, asset transfers, and retirements
Support internal and external audits
Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, IT, HR, Legal, Sales, Environmental Compliance, and field Finance teams
Support regulatory, franchise, and local tax-related accounting and compliance work
Must Haves 2+ years of accounting experience
Experience in a larger or operationally complex environment (e.g., manufacturing, distribution, logistics, healthcare, construction, environmental services)
Hands-on month-end close experience
Personally prepares journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Strong understanding of accrual-basis accounting
Solid GAAP and general ledger foundation
Strong Excel skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple priorities during a fast close
Curious and willing to ask questions rather than just follow instructions
