This is a new, full-time, exempt position reports directly to the CFO and is an on-site role at our Stockton Street location. Pay range is from $65,000 to $75,000

So, what is the job? While this is not a complete list of duties, the position centers on two main areas of focus:

Grant Management:

This is a key position that supports the Development team from an accounting standpoint and manages grants.

The Development team writes the grants, and upon award, passes them to the Accounting department to handle ongoing needs.

Grants are complex-this role handles revenue recognition, compiling required reports for awarding entities, submitting reimbursement invoices, and maintaining detailed grant files to ensure expenses, restricted funds, and deferred revenue is recorded appropriately.

Accounting:

The Development team generates revenue across several verticals, such as grants, events, individuals, businesses, etc. This position works closely with their team to ensure alignment on revenue and expense targets.

Reconciling with the Development team is an important function that needs dedicated attention, and this role will also be critical in supporting our annual audits.

General Responsibilities: Prepare journal entries

Account reconciliations

Ensure compliance with GAAP Principles

Assist with audits to ensure compliance

Support month-end and year-end close

Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts

Monthly reports and metrics generation

Reimbursement submissions, report submissions, and other grant related activities

Qualifications: 5+ years of broad accounting experience

Accounting degree

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nonprofit/Grant experience is a plus

QuickBooks experience is a plus

Office and Google Suite experience excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.
