Job description
Accountant – Temp-To-Hire
ProSearch Recruiting Group is partnering with a well-established organization in Marin County to identify an experienced Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This is a great fit for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role, working across multiple areas of accounting while supporting internal teams with accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.
This position is fully onsite in San Rafael and requires someone who is comfortable managing competing priorities, researching discrepancies, and communicating effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing
Prepare, maintain, and analyze financial accounting records and reports
Perform general ledger and account reconciliations
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and deposits
Research outstanding accounting items and work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
Assist with budget and expenditure monitoring
Prepare financial reports and analytical spreadsheets
Work within accounting software systems to maintain accurate financial data
Support multiple programs and deadlines while effectively prioritizing workload
Provide accounting guidance and support to internal business personnel
What We're Looking For
5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
Experience with fund or governmental accounting is highly desirable
Prior accounting experience within the public-sector, or similarly structured environment is a plus
Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills, including the ability to create analytical worksheets
Ability to research accounting issues and identify appropriate resolutions
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
Accounting degree/coursework or equivalent relevant experience
Position Details
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity paying $42–$45/hour, depending on experience. The position is 100% onsite in San Rafael, CA.
