This role serves as the organization's primary accounting professional, working directly with the Executive Director and leadership team to ensure financial integrity, support strategic decision-making, and help maximize our impact throughout the communities we serve.

n nWhat You'll Do
nAs the organization's lead accounting professional, you will oversee all core accounting and financial operations, including:
nFinancial Leadership
nnManage month-end close and maintain accurate financial records
nPrepare monthly financial statements and analyses (including GL reconciliations, journal entries, government billing, AP/AR oversight, and Board Reporting ) using GAAP
nDevelop budget-to-actual reporting and provide insights to leadership
nSupport annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
n nGrant & Fund Accounting
nnManage restricted funds and grant accounting
nMonitor allowable expenditures and grant balances
nPrepare reimbursement requests and required financial reports
nEnsure compliance with funding requirements
n nPayroll & Financial Operations
nnProcess payroll and related financial reporting
nOversee cash management activities and banking relationships
nReview accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
nMaintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
n nAudit & Compliance
nnCoordinate annual audit preparation
nAssist with Form 990, Form 5500, and regulatory reporting
nEnsure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and GAAP
n nStrategic Partnership
nnServe as a member of the leadership team
nCommunicate financial information to non-financial audiences
nIdentify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
nSupport organizational initiatives and special projects
n nThese responsibilities are grounded in the role's expectations for accounting ownership, fund accounting, payroll, audit support, reporting, internal controls, and leadership collaboration.
nWhat We're Looking For
nWe're searching for someone who combines technical accounting expertise with a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.
nPreferred Qualifications
nnThree or more years of progressive accounting experience utilizing generally accepted accounting principles.
nExperience managing month-end close processes
nFinancial statement preparation experience
nStrong general ledger and reconciliation skills
nBudgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis experience
nProficiency in Excel and accounting systems
nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities
n nAdditional Experience That Stands Out
nnNonprofit accounting experience
nGrant or fund accounting experience
nAudit preparation experience
nGovernment reimbursement billing experience
nQuickBooks experience
nCPA or other accounting credential

nCompensation
nSalary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
nCompensation will be based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the role.
