Accounting AssistantRoetzel & Andress LPA, a multi-state law firm with an administrative center in Fairlawn, Ohio, has an immediate opening for a full-time Accounting Assistant to support the Accounting Department. Duties and Responsibilities:Apply incoming payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to client accounts and invoices in accordance with firm policies and procedures.Reconcile daily cash receipts and investigate discrepancies in payment applications.Coordinate with clients, attorneys and team members regarding payment details, remittance information, unapplied or misapplied payments and ensure proper account adjustmentsRespond timely and accurately to client and team member questions/requests within the firm's ticketing system.Process client account adjustmentsReconcile client accountsIdentify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cash application workflows.Assist with other accounting tasks, as needed.Education and Experience:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.Experience in 3E, Elite, Aderant, or similar legal software applications.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong integrity and commitment to confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information.The candidate must also pass a credit and background check as a condition for employment.
