Accounting AssistantWe are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support daily finance operations for a Contract position based in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable working with routine accounting tasks, handling detailed financial records, and maintaining accuracy in a structured, paper-intensive environment. The ideal candidate can follow established procedures, manage recurring reconciliations and entries, and contribute dependable support to the accounting team. Responsibilities include:Reconcile bank activity for multiple branch accounts each month, reviewing transactions carefully and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.Enter high-volume payroll-related accounting lines with close attention to accuracy and completeness.Prepare and record journal entries to support regular accounting activity and month-to-month financial tracking.Code invoices appropriately and ensure supporting documentation is organized and aligned with accounting procedures.Use QuickBooks and Excel to maintain financial records, update reports, and assist with routine account analysis.Create and work with Excel pivot tables to summarize data and support reporting needs when required.Manage accounting documentation within a paper-driven workflow while maintaining orderly and accessible records.Follow established instructions and standardized processes to complete recurring accounting tasks consistently.
