Accounting ClerkMental Health Association of Nassau County (MHANC) is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to improving mental health in our community through advocacy, education, program development, and the delivery of direct services. Our organization is looking for a motivated individual with a calling to help adults with mental illness by becoming an Accounting Clerk.The Accounting Clerk provides support to the finance department's Staff Accountant preparing Nassau County claim vouchers and compiling and assembling supporting documents for the claims. General accounting duties and responsibilities will be assigned by the department's Controller.Nassau County Claim Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the staff accountant in preparing claim vouchers for Nassau County Contracts.Assist the staff accountant in filing and scanning various documents to support claim vouchers.Entering accounting data into various types of software programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, pre-formatted worksheets, accounting software, etc.)Assist the staff accountant with various clerical projects (e.g., scanning, filing, mailing of contracts, etc.)Other duties as assigned by the staff accountant or others accounting department staff.General Accounting Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists accounts payable in entering invoices, filing and processing accounts payable checksPrepares daily cash logOther duties as assigned by the ControllerRequirementsExcellent organizational skills with attention to detail.Excel, WordKnowledge of Fund EZ a plusSelf-motivated and strong work ethic with outstanding attendance record.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Honest, personable, dependable, punctual, and hardworking team player.
