Job description

Kubicki Draper is seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of our organization. This is a hands-on, in-office position, based in the firm's Miami location. This role reports directly to the Finance Director/Controller and plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting processes, and ensuring timely completion of financial responsibilities. Will be responsible for managing a team of 10+ employees.

nRequirements

nYour Day-to-Day

nnnPerform and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate financial records and account reconciliations.

n

nnManage trust accounts, including transactions, reconciliations, recordkeeping, and ensuring funds are properly accounted for.

n

nnSupervise Accounts Receivable, includes posting payments

n

nnSupervise Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, vendor records, and account reconciliation.

n

nnProcess payroll accurately and on schedule, including maintaining appropriate payroll records.

n

nnReview accounting transactions for accuracy and proper documentation.

n

nnReconcile bank, trust, and other balance sheet accounts.

n

nnAssist the Finance Director with month-end and year-end accounting processes.

n

nnPrepare accounting reports and supporting schedules as needed.

n

nnMaintain organized financial records and ensure accounting procedures and internal controls are followed.

n

nnCoordinate with employees, vendors, customers/clients, and outside professionals regarding accounting matters.

n

nnIdentify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and efficiency.

n

n nWhat You Bring

nnnAt least 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or accounting management for a mid to large sized law firm.

n

nnStrong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.

n

nnExperience managing or reconciling trust accounts.

n

nnStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

n

nnExcellent organizational and time-management skills.

n

nnAbility to handle confidential financial and payroll information with discretion.

n

nnStrong communication and problem-solving skills.

n

nnAbility to work independently while collaborating closely with the Finance Director.

n

nnProficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

n

n nEducation

nMinimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting strongly preferred).
